MR. DESMUND ALI – BCom (Banking Management), CAIOB (SA)

Desmund is a holder of a BCom (Banking Management) degree from Oxford Brookes and an associate member of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa and Zimbabwe and holds an Advanced Diploma in Treasury Management and Trade Finance of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers (UK). He has attended several courses on Treasury Management, Treasury Products, Relationship Management, Negotiation Dynamics and Asset/Liability Management including the highly regarded Asset/Liability Management in Banks and Financial Institutions held in Pune, India in 1996. Desmund’s banks career spans more than twenty six years. He started his banking career in 1990 with First Merchant Bank of Zimbabwe Limited and later worked, briefly, at Intermarket Discount House for a year in 1995. Des was a founding member, in 1996, of the Treasury team at Heritage Investment Bank Limited, where he rose to the position of Senior Dealer. On the formation of ABC in 2000, Des was seconded to the bank’s Botswana operation as Senior Dealer for two years and played a key role in positioning the bank in that market. Desmund was subsequently seconded to ABC Mozambique as the Head of Treasury Sales and Origination. He was transferred to African Banking Corporation Zimbabwe (BancABC) in the same capacity in June 2004. Desmund was the Head of Treasury Sales and Origination/Chief Dealer for African Banking Corporation Tanzania up to 2007. He joined the marketing team of BancABC Zimbabwe as the Country Head of Marketing in 2008. In September 2011, Des was tasked to spearhead the formation of BancEASY ( ABC EASY LOANS (Pvt) Ltd, a registered Microfinance Institution as the Managing Director. He was later made the Country Head of Retail and SME Banking of BancABC, a position he held until his departure from the bank in August 2015. Desmund was the Managing Director of Heritage Finance and Heritage Health Fund briefly in 2016 before joining the Homelink Group in December 2016.

Desmund is the Board Vice Chairman of the Bindura University of Science Education (National Sports Academy).

Desmund plays social cricket and is a medium pace bowler. He is married to Heather and they have six daughters.



Mr Benjamin Gwenzi has extensive working experience in the real estate business with special focus on land acquisition, construction project management, and mobilisation of project finance, property management and valuation. He is a former Director of Housing and Community Services of Chitungwiza Municipality. During his tenure, he actively participated in the formulation of the turnaround strategic plan for the local authority and coordinated formation of partnerships in infrastructural development and service delivery.

Prior to that, he had achieved over 12 years working experience in Central Government in the Valuation and Estates Management Department of the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing where the rose through the ranks to the position of Deputy Director, Valuation and Estates management. In addition to improving efficiency in the general administration of the department, he successfully accomplished delivery of major national and international real estate projects that were assigned to him. He had previously worked for District Development Fund (Mashonaland East) as a Planning Officer.

Mr Gwenzi holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Rural and Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Science degree in Construction Project Management from the National University of Science and Technology (Dissertation: Strategies adopted by construction companies in managing risk in Zimbabwe), as well as a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from the University of Zimbabwe (Dissertation: Establishing a healthy organisational culture). He is a member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Housing.



Mr Bindura is the Money Transfer Manager. Prior to his appointment, Mr Bindura held many positions. From (June 2003-Dec 2004) he was the Exchange Control Analyst at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. He became an Investment Executive for Homelink from Jan 2005 –Sep 2007 before becoming a Mortgages Manager and then a Money Transfers Manager in 2010 Mr. Bindura holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Finance from the National University of Science and Technology. He has an Advanced Diploma in Treasury Management and Trade Finance, an Advanced Diploma in Property and Financial Services and an  Associate Diploma with the Institute Of Bankers in South Africa.Tendai also holds a Master of Commerce degree in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance from Midlands State University (MSU) and a Master of Science in Insurance and Risk Management from the National University of Science and Technology.



Ms Sibusisiwe Mashoko has more than 5 years’ experience in microfinance, financial analysis and project management. Presently she is the Sales and Channels Manager at Homelink Finance (Pvt) Ltd.

Ms Sibusisiwe Mashoko holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honour’s Degree in Finance, and is an ACCA Affiliate (2016) and 2017 Mandela Washington Fellow. She is tri-lingual in English and the local Shona and Ndebele languages. She is passionate and fully committed to financial literacy, easing access to funding for women and the use of microfinance as a poverty alleviation tool for the highly informal African economies.



Miss Chikwanda serves as Group Marketing Manager. Prior to her appointment,  Miss Chikwanda held many positions from  April 2005 with the most recent one being that of Operations Manager for the Southern Region from . She holds a Master of Science degree in Marketing from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). Currently she is studying towards a PHD in Strategic Management. Driven by passion and strong conviction in all she does, outside her business interests she is also active in assisting the underprivileged children with grooming and training which helps them realize their God given purpose. Her Hobbies are sight-seeing and reading novels.
